About the Artists:

Márk Fülep was born in Miskolc (Hungary) in 1977. He passed the final examination in music with distinction and then studied at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. Master courses played an outstanding role during his studies: he attended about forty of them, several as a scholarship holder, given by the professors István Matuz, Walter Auer, Mario Caroli, Alain Marion, Auréle Nicolet, Paula Robison etc.
His play and work have always won him professional appreciation: he was awarded the Hungarian Artisjus-Prize twice, received the Annie Fischer scholarship three times.
Apart from performing the entire classical flute repertoire, he puts great emphasis on fostering Hungarian folk music tradition. Mr Fülep explores the potentials of his instrument in various musical styles: he is interested in Baroque ornamentation technique, modern blowing manners, improvised cadences and folk instruments alike. At his concerts he often plays different flutes. Openness to contemporary music has always been his concern that is born out by several works composed to him. He works together with the Ensembles Ear and Marcato, gives concerts in Hungary and abroad and his play has been repeatedly recorded by the Hungarian Radio and Television. His inclination to experimentation and careful making of programmes has resulted in several exciting concerts. Since 2000 he has been a teacher at the Leopold Mozart Music School of Budaörs and the founder of a flute ensemble there. Besides, he deals with instrumentations and arrangements, occasional publication and conducting a youth musical.

Tomoko Honda studied at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, the Queen Elizabeth Music Chapel, and the Cologne University of Music. In 2001 she won first prize at the Minerbio International Piano Competition in Bologna as well as at the Weiner Leó Chamber Music Competition in Budapest. She finished in second place at the European Competition in Turin in 1998 and at the Carlo Soliva International Competition in 2000; and in third place at the C. Togni International Piano Competition and the Zinetti International Chamber Music Competition in 2006.
With her colourful choices and innovative explorations in the field of contemporary music, she has performed as a soloist at some of the most prestigious venues and festivals such as Ars Musica, Klara Festival and the Balsa Marni Festival in Belgium, as well as the Gaudeamus Music Week, the Trondheim Chamber Music Festival, Impuls Festival in Graz, the International Festival of Contemporary Music in Budapest or the Menton Festival. She has collaborated with composers such as Péter Eötvös, Pascal Dusapin, Toshio Hosokawa or George Crumb, and has written, performed, and recorded many new pieces.
As a devoted chamber musician, she works in collaboration with a variety of smaller and larger ensembles. Tomoko has appeared on the stages of the Lille Opera House, the Van Gogh Museum, the Palace of Fine Arts, Flagey and Wigmore Hall, and has toured extensively throughout Europe, Asia, South America and Japan. Moreover, she has participated in several tv and radio recordings in the studios of Radio 3 (United Kingdom), Radio Bartok and the Hungarian National Television (Hungary), Music 3 and Klara (Belgium).
Since 2012 she has been working at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels as a pianist-accompanist, and she regularly participates as an official accompanist in international competitions such as the Adolf Sax International Competition or the Jean Marie Londeix International Competition.
