A propos

Martin Balogh and well-known Roma musician will bring other well-known Roma
musicians together on one stage. Within the Roma community, which has around 15
million people in Europe, the diversity is very large (language, traditions, etc.). The
Communist regime in Central and Eastern Europe, which made contact and cultural
exchange impossible, has reinforced this diversity. In this project, Slovak Roma
musicians from Ghent discover Django Reinhardt's swing songs for the first time. Under the artistic direction of Martin Balogh, they perform Django songs and other Roma traditional music in various styles, such as those from the Balkans, the Spanish rumba and the Hungarian Cardas.
