The energy of rock music and the pulse of Hungarian folk: Kerekes is the Ethno Funk itself. They have spent the last 20 years on the biggest world music scenes of Europe. Their unique style and sound is the result of an ongoing experimentation with mixing rock and folk music, and riffs with flute and koboz (lute). Their energetic stage presence and the virtuously played traditional instruments take you on a fantastic musical voyage that skirts punk, funk and dance, with traditional Hungarian music, underpinned by some fine drumming and production. Beyond doubt, their music is perfectly suitable for dance; you will dance the night away to popular music genres spiced with Hungarian folk. The band absolutely rocks live.

The Regained Freedom concert is part of the 30 Years of Freedom programme, commemorating 3 important historical moments: the 30th anniversary of the change of regime, the 25th anniversary of the NATO accession and the 15th anniversary of the EU accession of Hungary.
