In this concert presented by Japanese and Belgian musicians they will perform their favorite classical, traditional and Christmas repertoires from Europe and Japan.

Akiko Okawa - Violin

Born in Tokyo, Japan. Akiko is Belgium-based violin and viola player working in early, classical and contemporary music. She specializes in historical informed performance with period instruments, especially from early classical to late romantic repertoire. She has played under the direction of numerous conductors and soloists especially Amandine Beyer, William Christie, Philippe Herreweghe and Hervé Niquet. In the contemporary music scene, she is an active musician playing with several ensembles as Erämaa Trio, Ensemble 21 and Ensemble Hopper. In 2018, she has joined the Ictus Ensemble as an extra violinist. Always passionate about playing the new composition for solo instrument and chamber music ensemble, working and cleating with composers their own pieces. She won the first prize with the Erämaa Trio in the Léopold Bellan International Competition (Paris, France) in 2017.

Noriko Yakushiji - Voice

"She graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, and studied in Belgium with a grant from the Belgian government. She finished the Master's program of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, studying under Marianne Pousseur, with a scholarship from the Nomura Foundation. She was a laureate of the 2014 competion of Nouveaux Talents de l'Art Lyrique in Ans and got the 3rd prize of the 2018 competion of contemporary music in Tokyo. She played "L'enfant" in Ravel's "L'enfant et les sortilèges" at the Royal Opera of Liège, "Virtu" in Monteverdi's "L'incoronazione di Poppea" at the John McIntosh arts center of London and parformed in several festivals and concerts of Europe and Japan."
Yukari Uekawa - Saxophone
She studied saxophone in Elisabeth University of Music in Hiroshim(Japan), Cnr de Lyon(France), Concervatorium van Amsterdam(The Netherlands) and also studied contemporary music in Royal Concervatory of Ghent(Belgium) under the contemporary groupe of Ictus and Spectra.
In parallel with seasonal classical concert, Yukari's passion bring her into performs with contemporary dance and Indonesian Gamelan music in Europe and Asia.

Kensuke Taira - Bassoon

He was born in Okinawa, Japan. He started to play the bass clarinet at the age of 10, the bassoon at the age of 26.
He obtained the bachelor in Education at the University of the Ryukyus and 3 master degrees at the Royal conservatoire Antwerp. He studied the bassoon with Francis Pollet, the contrabassoon with Filip Neyensand Danny d'Haene and Bass clarinet with Jan Guns. He graduated at the conservatoire with the highest distinction.
In 2012 he received the "Oranjebeurs" granted by the Dutch Community Antwerp.He works as a freelance with orchestras, music theatres and chamber music groups in Belgium.

Véronique Delcambre - Piano

She began her musical studies at the Gosselies Academy where she received several awards. Afterwards, she was accepted into the Royal Conservatory of Mons in the class of Rosella Clini and Thomas Paule. Several years later, she obtained her Master's degree with high honors, as well as a Master's in accompaniment in the class of Catherine Van Loo. From 2013 to 2015, she perfected her skills in contemporary music with the members of the Ictus and Spectra ensembles through the Master after Master program at the Ghent Royal Conservatory.
