Dukas, Saint-Saens, Dvorak
Marianne Hansen (23) and Maureen van IJzerloo (22) form a young Dutch piano duo that has been performing together for over a decade. Despite their age, they have already built a strong concert experience, with performances across the Netherlands and internationally, including appearances in Ireland, Scotland, England, Belgium and Switzerland.
Marianne and Maureen are recognized for their refined ensemble playing, expressive musicality, and the natural energy they bring to the stage. Their playing was described by Wibi Soerjadi as:
“An outstanding piano duo with exceptional qualities in ensemble playing and musical expression.”
With their concert concept “An Orchestra in Four Hands”, they transform the piano into a full orchestra. Through four hands and 88 keys, they reveal the richness, color, and power of symphonic music in an intimate and compelling way.
Their program features iconic orchestral works in piano duet versions, including L’Apprenti Sorcier by Paul Dukas, Le Carnaval des Animaux and Danse Macabre by Camille Saint-Saëns, as well as symphonic music by Antonín Dvořák.
A complete orchestra, captured in a single instrument.
