In December 2019, the Brussels based quintet SONICO will record their second album in the Academiezaal (Sint-Truiden). The release of the album is planned in August 2020 in Buenos Aires and in October 2020 in Belgium.
SONICO second album is deepening their search for the musical essence of Eduardo Rovira. Rovira unjustly is thought of as the “other Astor Piazzolla” because of his fundamental role in the creation of the “tango nuevo” as part of the Buenos Aires avant-garde in the early 50’s.
"Eduardo Rovira: La Otra Vanguardia", SONICO's first album (2018), was released at the BOZAR Centre for Fine Arts and was chosen as part of the top 10 by Billboard magazine in the category Tango.
